Weekly meetings are for everyone to attend. Come enjoy some casual chess and connect with the community.

Theory64 has invested in triple-weighted pieces, tournament standard vinyl boards, and top quality DGT chess clocks to make playing enjoyable for all.

Theory64 has partnered with the Rickson Ridge Neighbourhood Group to host casual chess meetups to at Rickson Ridge Public School Library every Tuesday (7:00-9:00 PM) and Saturday (9:30-11:00 AM) from January to June in 2025.

We’re so glad to introduce you to chess! Start by attending one of the free weekly casual chess meetups where we can teach you the rules! Boards and pieces provided free of charge. Come have fun!

Who is welcome at Theory64?

Everyone is welcome to play chess at Theory64 casual chess meetups. No matter what skill level, beginner to master, all are welcome to join us in exploring the game we love.

What events do you hold?

We hold in-person meetups for casual chess with lessons, tournaments, and even special events like simultaneous exhibitions with Master-level players to come in the future.

How much does it cost to play?

Weekly casual chess meetups are entirely free of charge with boards, pieces, and even top quality chess clocks provided. Tournaments/lessons/events pricing displayed during signup.

What is over-the-board etiquette?

Being polite and following the rules is respecting yourself and your opponent. Attending casual chess meetups are a great way to learn the proper etiquette for over-the-board play.

How do I improve at chess?
